Pam Peters Designs
I live in North Wales, a beautiful part of the country (and world), with my husband and two lovely children, making fused glass art from my workshop in my garden. North Wales has such a lot of scenic, tranquil places to visit which have been the inspiration for my work featuring trees & flowers.
My workshop was formerly a shed, then ‘Wendy’ house, but now it’s a fully functional workshop housing my small kiln. In 2014 my art work started to sell all over the world so a bigger kiln was required. I have now expanded into the garage to enable much larger pieces of art to be made.
All my work is primarily created by fusing coloured glass together (I just love the vibrant colours of the glass), to form beautiful ornamental pieces. Each piece is hand painted with enamels to create individuality, before being fired in a kiln for up to 24 hours. Some pieces may require 2 or 3 firings to get the effects I want to create.
Having had a very successful 2016, I have now gone into partnership with my daughter, Beth Peters, to help with production and advertising following her completion of her Contemporary Art in Practice, BA Hons at Bath Spa University in June 2017. Beth has mastered in Ceramics and as well as helping me with the glass work, social media and selling my products at shows such as the Eisteddfod in Anglesey, Beth hopes to build her own studio in the near future to enable her to work on her ceramics when we will both trade under the umbrella name of ‘Out of the Kiln’.
